Class Descriptions
ASHTANGA
• Mysore Self-Practice
This is the traditional form of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
as taught by Sri K Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India.
This class is open to absolute beginners and advanced
practitioners. In Mysore classes you receive
individual guidance and attention like private tuition
within a group environment. This gives you the
opportunity to really explore and develop a personal
practice, in your own rhythm and time. You can join
the class at any time between 6.30am and 9.00am.
Ensure you allow enough time to complete your practice
by 9.00am. Highly recommended. (Jen: Mon-Thur,

• Ashtanga Improvers: Change to class format
For students who have completed the beginners Ashtanga
course or for those who want to refresh their practice
after a break. Modifications to the Primary Series
will be given throughout. (Jen)
• Ashtanga Vinyasa, Guided Practice. (and open ashtanga). Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic style of
yoga based on the synchronization
of breath and movement, linking each asana through the breath. Students will be guided through some of the postures in the primary series maintaining the order of the sequence. This is a demanding
practice. We advise
complete beginners
to start with a beginners
course (below) before attending
Ashtanga guided practice.
• Ashtanga Yoga Beginners Course. The Ashtanga beginners course starts every six weeks on Monday evenings. The course is designed for total beginners
to Ashtanga yoga to experience the fundamental
and basic elements of this style of yoga. See here for full details. To avoid disappointment we recommend you book in advance. From Feb. 21 the course will be on Thursday's.
• Vinyasa Yoga. Vinyasa Yoga Based on the same principles of Astanga Yoga, the practice of Vinyasa Yoga will unfold different every time. You will learn sequences of postures, basic alignment, and many more yogic techniques. These elements are thread together in a dynamic style and the emphasis or theme of the class will be chosen according to the time of the day, season, and to the needs of the students. In Vinyasa we work in stages so all levels are welcome. The Wednesday class will be based on the primary and intermediate sequences of Astanga Yoga. The Friday class will be a creative free flow.
Hatha
• Hatha is a relaxing but no less challenging form of yoga postures, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques. You will be exploring creative and always different posture, strengthening your body and mind in a gentle and calming manner with rest in between each sequence of movement. Highly recommended to complete beginners those who need a positive break away from their active lives. All classes are on a drop-in basis so just find a suitable time and join us.
• Hatha: Dynamic Flow
A flowing choreographed Asana class to music which
changes weekly. This class is enjoyable and works on
opening the hips and shoulders. It's a fun class so
come and enjoy! Suitable for those with 6 months or
more experience in any type of yoga.
• Hatha: Dance of Breath
This asana class will focus on a choreographed
sequence of breath and movement with an ever-changing emphasis on playfulness. The class will be creative, fun and playful! Come and dance with us!
• Yoga Awakening - Yoga for beginners.This class is ideal for total beginners, and does not require flexibility or strength. The practice aims at developing the meditative aspect in yoga, with slow and focused body work and breathing and meditation exercises. It is an excellent option to work towards a healthy life, a fit body and a relaxed, stress-free mind. Classes are limited to 12 students so book early to avoid disappointment!”

PILATES
Pilates is a method of body conditioning. It focuses primarily on the deep postural muscles, building strength form the inside, rebalancing the body and bringing it into correct alignment. With regular practise it will help to reshape your body, with leaner muscles; strength with more flexibility.
